Abstract
A 68-year-old male presented with a chronic, recurrent, non-healing, discharging umbilical sinus since 1.5 years ago. Medical history was unremarkable. On examination, it was observed that there was a serous discharge from inside the umbilicus. The discharge was foul-smelling and purulent. No inguinal or axillary lymphadenopathy. Routine hematological and biochemical investigations were normal. The patient had undergone sinus tract excision 8 months back, without any improvement of symptoms. Further evaluation by ultrasonography revealed a linear hypoechoic lesion with internal thick debris noted in the umbilicus with communication into the peritoneal cavity.
